The business was established in 1979 by Norman Booth and following his retirement in December 2004 Adam Elwell picked up the mantel and has never looked back. Trading continued as Norman’s of Woodley up until April 2008, by which time Adam’s new style of business dealings has seen an increased customer base and a wider range of goods to choose from in order to meet changing trends. With the help of his trusted Manageress, Cath Durkin, who has been with the business from conception, they make a formidable team and are always ready to help customers, young and old, through the myriad of products on view. In addition their philosophy is simple – “if we don’t have it we know where we can get it for you” – nothing is too much trouble.
Adam’s of Woodley has kept up the tradition of providing the best bait that money can buy. A keen angler Adam knows the importance of good bait and is proud of the reputation that he has been able to maintain from his predecessor.
Besides the bold move to increase product range, the single biggest decision was to change the name but, fortunately, the feedback from regular customers has been terrific. The change in name marks the beginning of a new exciting era built upon the foundations of a successful business, which is unparallel for quality and value anywhere in the region.
