Border fisheries July 2008
The Match Lake… All pegs fishing well plenty of good carp coming out to 14lbs lots of bream to 2lbs down the edge with meat feeding pellet. Out to the island up in the water on the pellet wagglor try caster and hemp for good roach. Match weight topping 100lbs +
Gibbos pool…Fishing well carp to 16lbs+ pellet corm are the best baits to use try paste down the side lots of silver fish and the odd Barbel & Chubb & Roach to 1lbs+ feed little and often fish pole.
The Specimen lake…Big Perch to 4lbs+ on worm lots of carp on the feeder and pellet big Chubb to 3lbs good bream and roach on pellet keep the feed going in. Back of the island fishing is best.
Three Islands pool…lots of skimmers bream roach Rudd & Chub to maggot up in the water. Meat corn and pellet for carp to 6lbs best pegs 9 to 24
Stacey’s pool… Carp to 18lbs down the side meat corn & pellet. feed hemp fish over with corn lots of bream to 1lb+ try the wagglor op in the water with maggot for fish all day.
The Meridian canal …Barry Holmes had 124lbs from peg 56 in last weeks match lots of Barbel to 5lbs plenty of good silver fish to corn the odd Tench to 5lb pellet & meat down the middle is working well for the Barbel best pegs 18 to 50

The Maver Festival, this is the first of our autumn festivals at White Acres. The festival is a sell out with 180 anglers making the journey to Cornwall from across the UK to fish the 5-day event. This year sees a new venue introduced to the festival, and seeing as it had not been fished yet we have yet to know how the anglers will get on. For some this is a warm up for next week’s festival whilst for others it is their final chance of qualification and for many it is just a chance to come and do some fishing, see old friends, hopefully pick up a few lucky envelopes and generally consume a large amount of beer! ……….
