LIVE CHAT on matchfishing-scene 12th February 8pm-9pm with Keith Arthur……………..click here
Mr Keith Arthur!! Yes people we have asked if Keith would kindly host a Q&A session and he has agreed. The date is 12th February, between 8 and 9.
Keith as you know is probably one of the most recognised faces (and voice) of the UK angling scene. This is your chance to ask him about his full and varied angling career, as well as his views on the current changes within angling.
The chatbox feature will be used specifically for this and the number of characters increased to allow for lengthier responses. This promises to be another excellent feature and we hope you all enjoy it.
Many thanks to Keith once again for giving up his time. online vantin
Matchfishing-scene is a brand new website that has been created specifically to answer the demands of the competitive angler. Whether it is a peg to peg battle with your mate, a 130 peg Fisho qualifier or even beating your own personal best, you will find the up to date info at Matchfishing-scene.com that you need.
Matchfishing-scene has the added luxury of having some of the finest match anglers in the country offering advice to all of its members, and there will be regular live chat sessions with these guys. Andy May and Derek Willan to name two, where you can have your question answered within seconds. No waiting a week for a “star name” to come on line.

Mallory Park Fisheries is often described as a Jewel in the Leicestershire landscape. On our two sites we have a total of 12 fishing lakes and over a dozen wildlife ponds. The four fishing lakes that are in and around the Mallory Park race circuit are complemented by a further eight lakes at the Glebe, which is our 36 acre showcase site located just a couple of miles up the road from Mallory Park. The Glebe is a haven for wildlife and its fishing has been described as the best in England. [More]
Well it seems that all my hard work of the last couple of months has paid off as I managed to buy some time this month to introduce the “Shady Shallow” range of floats as promised in last months Newsletter. I can only say that the response has been phenomenal as I am now starting to make a third large batch of these floats. The first person to receive a set of these was Adrian (Slim Shady) Williams because it was Slim who I named the float after due to his love of fishing up in the water. He phoned me on his way back from Rolfs Lake to tell me that he was “well happy” with the performance of his new floats after the rather extreme test which the Rolfs inhabitants had put them through. Anglers World Holidays is launching two completely new Irish festivals in 2009 but says that the 2009 Monaghan Pairs Festival will still be the number one.
“It is certainly the ‘hot ticket’ on the Irish match scene”, said Anglers World boss Martin Founds. “The five-day competition takes place on Lough Muckno during September and has consistently produced the best match catches going back for more than 20 years.
“This year the bream didn’t appear, yet the average catch was 36 lb per-man, per-day, of roach between six and eight ounces!”The first of two brand new sponsored festivals takes place on the River Shannon at Portumna in April and is sponsored by the Shannon Oaks Hotel & Country Club.
The four day event is timed to coincide with the mass movement of roach and hybrids from Lough Derg into the river when big catches are most likely. The other is at Ballinamore – a famous Irish angling holiday centre – where €1,500 and the return of all entry fees is the lure to some of County Leitrim’s very best waters. Plans are already in hand to create facilities on five totally different proven waters holding bream, roach, hybrids and tench.
Portumna International Angling Festival April 20-23 Lower River Shannon €1000 sponsorship and return of all entry fees
Banagher Festival April 27- 1 May Lower River Shannon. £500 sponsorship and return of all entry fees
Ballinamore Spring Festival June 1-5 Fishing on lakes around County Leitrim. €1500 sponsorship and return of all entry fees
Stena Challenge June 8-12. Fishing on lakes around Gowna and Carrigallen £2,000 sponsorship and return of all entry fees
Monaghan Pairs September 21-25. Fishing on the Lough Muckno. £250 sponsorship and return of all entry fees
